54 year old, British teacher Gillian Gibbons has been charged by Sudanese authorities with insulting religion and inciting hatred, the British Foreign Office
confirmed today.
What's her crime? She allowed her class of 6 and 7-year- old pupils at Unity High School in Khartoum to name a teddy bear Mohammed. The child who thought up the name has since said he named the bear after himself.
The Sudanese authorities should be counter charged for exactly the same offences.
I'm posting this photo in my Your Teacher's blog. I know it won't do any good, but it will make me feel a bit better, you see I was once asked to go and teach there, I thank God I said, "No thank you".
